Choosing a place to Live

Studying in the USA is a big opportunity for you to improve your English. If you have been accepted to study at ELI (English Language Institute) then you should do many things before you come here. One important thing is seeking and choosing a place to live. Most students come here and stay in a hotel for two weeks before they find an apartment. They spend a lot of money on the hotel, and usually, they do not find an apartment with a good price. If you want to find a nice apartment with a good price, then you should do one of two things:

The first option is to ask a friend. If you have a friend who lives in College Station, or who had been living in College Station, then you should ask him/her about the apartments. Your friends want the best for you. They don’t want you to give them money or anything. They have been living in College Station, at least for a while, and probably, they know a lot about the apartments in College Station because they had sought an apartment when they’d gotten to College Station. You should tell your friends what kind of apartment you want. Also, tell them whether you prefer to live with roommates or alone. When they tell you that they have found an apartment, you should ask them for pictures and some information about it. This is the safest, cheapest, and the easiest way to find an apartment.


The second way, if you do not have a friend in College Station, is you to look up for the apartments online. There are a lot of websites to find an apartment. My favorite website is “apartmentfinder.com.” It has many choices, and different prices. The best way to look up an apartment online is to decide what kind of apartment you want and how much you can pay for the rent. After you decide, go to the website and search for the apartments there. Then, read the reviews and what the people say about it. Also, it’s possible to ask the ELI office about the apartment that you have found.

In conclusion, you can come here then seek an apartment, but you will spend a lot of money on the hotel, and you won’t have enough time to choose a nice apartment. On the other hand, you can do that in your home by asking a friend, or looking up the apartments online. If you do that, you will save your money and your time.
